TESO (Texels Eigen Stoomboot Onderneming) provides the crossing between Den Helder (‘the other side’) and Texel. The ferry service runs daily from early in the morning until late in the evening and departs every hour from Texel and every half hour from Den Helder. The last ferry departs from Texel at 9 p.m., from Den Helder the last ferry leaves at 9:30 p.m. On busy days, TESO deploys an extra ferry and sails a half-hourly service from both directions.

Do you make sure that you are at the ferry well in time? It is always advisable not to go for the last ferry (9:30 p.m.) due to any delay along the way. The ticket purchased online or at the counter is always a return ticket. You can throw this away or keep it for the scrapbook. You will no longer need it on the way back.

In Den Helder

From Den Helder station, take bus 33 to the ferry port. At the ferry you get off and buy a ticket for the ferry crossing for €2,50.

on Texel

Via a fixed route, at fixed times, bus line 28 will take you from the Veerhaven Texel to Den Burg Centrum and De Koog. You don’t need to reserve this route. But would you like to travel to or from another bus stop on the island? Then you can travel with a Texelhopper mini bus.

Thanks to those mini buses, (almost) every location on Texel is accessible. To reach Hoeve Vianen or any other destination, you have to book such a Texelhopper mini bus. The bus will then be ready at the place you have reserved.
